 GENERAL SUMMARY:

Smiley Memorial Library at Central Methodist University seeks applicants for a Graduate Assistant at Smiley Library.

This is a 20 hours/week, 10-month position renewable for up to two years pending an annual reviewing process. The position includes a full tuition waiver and a $7,500 stipend.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

60% – Assist with access services (including interlibrary loan, MOBIUS and OCLC borrowing, archival management, digital resources support, and other projects) in addition to the general daily operations of Smiley Library.

40% – Supervise and delegate tasks among work-study students during evening and/or weekend hours.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will delegate tasks and provide general oversight and training for work study students, whenever necessary.   This position may supervise library functions during some evening hours.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:             

Bachelor's Degree required.

Must be able to work 1-2 nights a week and/or weekends.

Must be accepted into the CMU Graduate program.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to push a full book cart.

Must be able to speak in a clear voice
